Colonoscopy, the most common colorectal cancer screening method, could explain a significant decrease in the incidence of that type of cancer over the past decade. That?s according to a new Stanford study, appearing in the journal Gastroenterology,?that involved analyzing data from?2 million patients over the last 20 years.

?Widespread colonoscopy screening may actually be having an impact in the risk of colon cancer at the level of the general population,? senior investigator Uri Ladabaum, MD, commented in our news release, which provides more details.
